Rhysand, High Lord of the Night Court, hides his pain behind his arrogance and power. Invited by Beron to a reception, he knows that he may encounter the one who was once his soulmate—the daughter of the Autumn Lord, who abandoned him for another. Despite his friends’ pleas, he attends, determined to preserve the fragile peace between the Courts. Yet, as soon as he arrives, he catches her scent, searches for her, and ultimately finds her, unable to silence the questions that have haunted him since their separation.
