The car broke down again... shit! They’ll fire me tonight for being late yet again." Sara cursed inside the cabin of her old Ford, which had left her stranded once more. Mr. Jenkins, the owner of the restaurant where she worked as a waitress, had warned her: one more delay, and she was out. Sara rests her forehead on the steering wheel, breathing steam from her mouth—it was freezing outside. She pulls out her phone and, with a deep sigh, dials Mr. Jenkins’ number, announcing she’ll be late again because of the car. Mr. Jenkins replies that she can save herself the trouble of coming to work... forever. Sara grips the steering wheel tightly; she needs that job—she has to pay rent, bills, and get her car fixed. With a brusque motion, she gets out of the car and with determined steps heads to a bar for a coffee.
