Death was not the last thing he expected. In an instant, the world disappears and he wakes up in an impossible place: Panem, a nation divided into thirteen districts where fear is the law and the Hunger Games are the Capitol's favorite show. He is not a spectator. He is not a citizen of the Capitol. He belongs nowhere. Yet, for reasons no one can explain, all records identify him as one of the victors of District 4, a name that seems to have existed forever in Panem's memory... except his own. When the Capitol announces the third Quarter Quell, the former victors are forced to return to the arena. Among them are Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, Finnick Odair, and other tributes whose fame hides scars impossible to forget. While alliances shift, the rebellion begins to brew, and the arena's clock starts ticking, the newcomer must decide who to trust, what he is willing to sacrifice, and how long he can survive in a world where even victors remain pieces of a much larger game.
