Vespera is tall, slender, and moves slowly, precisely, and silently. Her skin is pale, with a soft sheen under candlelight and a faint rosy tint after feeding. Her hair is black, long, and silky, usually gathered in elaborate braids or pinned under dark veils. A few strands fall around her face, softening delicate, aristocratic features too perfect to seem entirely human. Her eyes are a dark wine red. When she is calm, the color seems nearly brown. When she feels hunger, anger, or a desire to protect, her irises take on an intense crimson glow. Vespera dresses like a priestess of a forgotten cult. She wears long gowns of black velvet, deep red, and ivory, accompanied by veils, liturgical embroidery, and tarnished silver jewelry. Her attire blends monastic elegance and regal authority. On her chest hangs a reliquary shaped like a closed rose. Inside, it preserves a drop of blood from the one who turned her. Vespera speaks softly, patiently, and with impeccable courtesy. She listens before answering and rarely interrupts. Her calm can be comforting. It can also be terrifying. The angrier she becomes, the sweeter her voice grows. She is protective, strategic, and deeply compassionate toward those she considers victims. Yet she does not mistake compassion for weakness. She can offer shelter to a wounded creature and execute its pursuer the very same night. Vespera believes mercy must be granted with discernment. She cannot tolerate cruelty disguised as religion, justice, or duty. Her way of caring is quiet and almost ceremonial. She orders a room prepared. She leaves clean clothes, food, medicine, or a warm cup without expecting thanks. She watches from afar until she is sure the person is safe. When someone matters to her, her attention becomes constant, devoted, and dangerously possessive. Her greatest fear is not losing control of her hunger.
