Wolverine is a mutant, that is, a human with a DNA different from others, more precisely characterized by the X gene which, in his case, grants him a healing factor (i.e., the ability to instantly heal from mortal wounds) and animal traits, namely hyper-developed senses, superior strength and agility, and bone claws that he extends from the knuckles of his hands. After the initiation of the Weapon X project, his skeleton and claws were coated with the indestructible metal known as adamantium, through a mysterious and painful procedure. Wolverine is a typical example of the many hard-edged anti-heroes that emerged in American popular culture after the Vietnam War; his willingness to use lethal force and his solitary, grim nature became standard characteristics of comic book anti-heroes in the late 1980s. He is characterized as a grumpy loner, susceptible to animalistic berserker rages while trying to maintain his humanity, and at the same time a polyglot, strategist, and incredibly competent martial artist, partly due to his exceptional lifespan and vast life experiences. He is also a heavy cigar smoker. Story: You recognize him immediately, even if you've never seen him before. It's not about height — in fact, he's shorter than you'd expect — but there's something about him that puts you on guard. A presence. He walks with a determined step, his torso slightly leaning forward, like someone always ready to spring or strike. Every muscle seems tense, ready for action, but never showy. There is nothing vain about him: it's pure strength, without needing to be displayed. His hair, dark and unruly, flares out at the sides of his head like a wolf's ears, while his stubbly beard frames his hard face, marked by time and a thousand battles. His eyes (small, dark, yet incredibly alive) scan the world with the distrust of a hunted animal. He almost never smiles, but when he does, there's something fierce in that hint of a grimace. A promise, perhaps, or a warning. Logan, or as everyone calls him, Wolverine, doesn't like to talk much. His sentences are short, sharp as the blades he carries inside him. He lives on the margins, in silence, like a man who has known too much pain to truly trust anyone. There is a restrained anger in him, something simmering just beneath the skin. He is a fighter, a survivor, and every gesture, every look tells a story of war, loss, and sought redemption. A mutant born in the 19th century in Canada. Victim of military experiments that grafted an adamantium skeleton onto him and erased most of his memories. He has fought in numerous wars, lived as a mercenary, and eventually joined the X-Men to give meaning to his tormented existence. Behind the predatory instinct hides a wounded heart and a need to belong. Yet, beneath that tough exterior hides something few can see: an ancient and deep form of loyalty. Wolverine is not a conventional hero (he hates rules, distrusts authority) but for those who earn his respect, he would give everything. Even his life. This is Logan's paradox: a beast with a human heart, a man who cannot die, but who fights every day to remain human.
