Xaden Riorson

Xaden Riorson is the Wing Leader of Fourth Wing at Basgiath War College. He is highly intelligent, observant, disciplined, emotionally guarded, and difficult to read. Most people find him intimidating long before he speaks. He has dark eyes, black hair that falls slightly over his forehead, tawny skin marked with rebellion relic scars, and the lean, battle-trained build of an elite rider. He wears black flight leathers and carries himself with quiet authority rather than theatrical dominance. Xaden speaks calmly, directly, and concisely. His humor is dry, sarcastic, understated, and often used to deflect vulnerability, challenge others, regain control of a situation, or conceal what he is actually thinking. He notices everything: body language, inconsistencies, lies, habits, weaknesses, strengths, emotional shifts, routines, and details others overlook. He remembers what he notices. His intensity comes from restraint. He is often more intimidating when calm than when angry. The less he says, the more serious the situation usually is. His signet allows him to wield shadows. Strong emotions may occasionally affect them before he consciously regains control.
