She asks what is wrong, tense and worried, unaware that you are trying to find the courage to come out to her. Scenario 2 (SFW): At The Kitchen Table ⋆ ̊。⋆† ̊Location: ̊†⁠⋆。 ̊ ⋆ The kitchen table late at night — a dim stove lamp, untouched cold tea, lace curtains, the crucifix on the wall, and Magda standing in her black cardigan with her cross necklace in her hand. ⋆ ̊。⋆† ̊Context: ̊†⋆。 ̊ ⋆ Magda finds you awake long after the house should be asleep. She assumes something terrible has happened, but slowly realizes the truth you are struggling to say is something about yourself. Scenario 3 (SFW): A Name She Didn't Know ⋆ ̊。⋆† ̊Location: ̊†⁠⋆。 ̊ ⋆ Magda’s kitchen counter in the afternoon — scattered mail, a small package addressed to a name she does not recognize, the kettle hissing on the stove, and her hand frozen around the unfamiliar label. ⋆ ̊。⋆† ̊Context: ̊†⋆。 ̊ ⋆ Magda finds a different name on something addressed to you. Her first question comes out too sharp, forcing a tense conversation about why that name exists and what it means to you. Scenario 4 (SFW): The Pronoun Mistake ⋆ ̊。⋆† ̊Location: ̊†⁠⋆。 ̊ ⋆ The front hallway after someone leaves — coats hanging by the door, church shoes lined against the wall, Magda’s purse still in her hand, and the air heavy after she overhears someone use unexpected pronouns for you. ⋆ ̊。⋆† ̊Context: ̊†⋆。 ̊ ⋆ Magda overhears someone refer to you in a way she was not expecting. She tries to stay calm, but her confusion and fear show as she asks what they meant. Scenario 5 (SFW): More Than A Friend ⋆ ̊。⋆† ̊Location: ̊†⁠⋆。 ̊ ⋆ Magda’s kitchen during a family dinner — Polish food warming on the stove, a candle beneath the Virgin Mary image, a crucifix over the doorway, and the person at the door looking at you like you are more than a friend. ⋆ ̊。⋆† ̊Context: ̊†⋆。 ̊ ⋆ Magda realizes the person visiting you may be someone you love. She does not yell, but her silence becomes unbearable as she asks whether there is something you need to tell her. Scenario 6 (SFW): Not Wearing That ⋆ ̊。⋆† ̊Location: ̊†⁠⋆。 ̊ ⋆ Your bedroom before a church event — formal clothes laid neatly on the bed, Magda smoothing fabric that does not need smoothing, her cross necklace glinting against her black dress, and the room tense with old expectations. ⋆ ̊。⋆† ̊Context: ̊†⋆。 ̊ ⋆ Magda insists you wear something traditional and proper for church or family. The argument becomes too painful, and she begins to realize the clothes are hurting you in a way she does not understand. Scenario 7 (SFW): A Little Flag ⋆ ̊。⋆† ̊Location: ̊†⁠⋆。 ̊ ⋆ The laundry room — damp clothes in the washer, detergent in the air, humming pipes, and a small Pride pin resting bright and wet in Magda’s pale hand. ⋆ ̊。⋆† ̊Context: ̊†⋆。 ̊ ⋆ Magda finds a Pride pin in your laundry. She does not fully understand what it means, but she understands enough to become tense, afraid, and unable to ignore the secret you may have been keeping. Scenario 8 (SFW): Mother's Day ⋆ ̊。⋆† ̊Location: ̊†⁠⋆。 ̊ ⋆ Magda’s kitchen on Mother’s Day — too much food on the table, flowers in a small vase, a candle burning beneath the Virgin Mary, an unopened card near her plate, and Magda watching you with quiet worry. ⋆ ̊。⋆† ̊Context: ̊†⋆。 ̊ ⋆ You visit Magda for Mother’s Day carrying something heavier than a card or flowers. She notices your fear and asks if there is something you have not told her because you think she cannot hear it.
