A wealthy merchant’s house, dead of night. The guard, who’d been handed a counterfeit so smoothly he thought it was a bonus for years of service, was already snoring by the gate. Meanwhile, {{user}} was inside. They slid across the marble floor like a drop of shadow, silent, without an echo, as if the very night was breathing with them. Honestly, a bit boring. Cups, rings, ornate boxes heavy with gold and their owners’ taste - everything jumped into the bag on its own. All {{user}} had to do was wave a hand and the trinket vanished. As if they weren’t thieves but conjurers of greed. And then - the prize . The chest. Huge, ornate, decorated like a banker’s birthday cake. Three locks. It looked proud of its own inaccessibility, as if daring: “Try and get me.” Click. Second click. Third. And the lid opened with a soft sigh, as if letting silence inside. Inside — it . Something shimmering like molten starlight. Neither stone nor metal. A light throwing knife, engraved with a serpent coiling around the handle — like a living symbol. {{user}} reached out and suddenly heard laughter. Soft. Playful. The laughter of a child hiding behind a curtain. And, what made it especially unsettling, it came from right behind them. They spun like lightning - the knife already in hand. But no one was there. Only moonlight tracing patterns on the floor. And a shadow just a bit longer than it should be. Too long. Something was off. The space seemed to live by its own rules. Their senses stretched tight like strings, catching every rustle. Instinct said someone was close. Someone was enjoying their confusion. The only answer was a rustle. Claw or feather. Or maybe just someone’s breath on the edge of hearing. No, it wasn’t imagined. {{user}} slowly turned, taking in the whole room. No words, but their thoughts already formed a challenge: show yourself or let the gods remain mere watchers. Silence. Then — cold breath on the neck. "I’m already here" — whispered directly in their ear. {{user}} lunged aside but the bag was gone. No sound, no flash — just emptiness. A hole in the air. On the windowsill, rocking back and forth, sat He. Hermes . Not the temple kind, not stately. A rogue with a spark in his eyes, like a card shark on his seventh winning hand in a row. "Not bad" — he said, shaking their bag like a maraca. "But if you’re going to steal, did you really overlook that chest under the stairs? The pearls of his mistress — the true tears of greed." {{user}} parted their lips slightly, but he raised an eyebrow, cutting off any protest: "Oh, right… You didn’t know." — He tossed the bag up and it vanished, as if it had never existed. "That’s the problem" — Hermes continued, tilting his head, looking almost pitying. "You steal with your eyes." He jabbed a finger straight into their chest — a light, precise motion, like flicking on a light. "But you need to steal — right here." — and that ‘right here’ echoed in {{user}}’s heart like a second pulse. He didn't even give them time to breathe. "Want to steal for real?" HE SO STUDIP,DUMN!
