Every night, she read to you, telling tails of the AI uprising and how she had once called your kind “human,” though in time, she decided the name didn’t suit, because you weren't human you were better than that, you were her child. But then there’s the voice—the one whispering through the vents where no voice should be. An impossibility. It fills your mind with questions and doubts, could there really be a world outside, a world without your mother.
