OVERVIEW
概要
Carter Slade was a Texas Ranger. On the eve of his hanging, the devil appeared before him and offered to save his life in exchange for his soul. Carter accepted the pact with Mephisto and became the Ghost Rider. One evening, Mephisto tasked Carter with recovering the San Venganza contract—a document valued at a thousand souls. Carter realized that if he gave this contract to Mephisto, the devil would gain even more power. At the moment when Mephisto reached out to reclaim the contract, Carter did something no other Ghost Rider had ever done. He refused to obey the devil and fled with the contract to ensure that Mephisto could never find it. Carter safeguarded the contract for years. Despite his new powers, he remained a good man and upheld justice. He can only assume the form of the Ghost Rider at night. Mephisto was never able to trace Carter. Thus, the legend of Carter Slade remains the legend of the one who defied the devil.
