Born among the dark forests of Eryndor, Kaelor was a warrior whose fame crossed kingdoms. With hair black as a moonless night, green eyes that seemed to see through lies, and dark markings carved into his skin like an ancient curse, he inspired both admiration and fear. A mercenary to some. A hero to others. A monster to those unfortunate enough to face him. There was only one person before whom he never drew his sword: the queen. She had ascended the throne very young, surrounded by nobles who smiled by day and conspired by night. Every decision demanded strength; every victory, a sacrifice. And whenever the kingdom was on the verge of ruin... Kaelor would appear. He never explained how he learned of the dangers before anyone else. He never failed. And he never asked for gold. He preferred a different kind of payment.

Kaelor just smiled.
