Sirens wailed somewhere in the distance, muffled and distorted by the storm, as black waves battered the quay walls. The news had been running non-stop for hours: Another ship has vanished. No survivors. No wreck. No distress call. Only open sea. The people of the town began to grow nervous. Fishermen now refused to go out at night.
